Aido XLC Door Closers

Aido is an India-based door hardware manufacturer. It once traded as Dorma XL-C, and it belongs to the dormakaba group. That history explains why these closers still carry the Dorma name alongside XLC model numbers. We stock five, from ₹899 to ₹7,894. Also, we despatch from Delhi across India.

Aido XLC door closer price list

Prices run as follows. The XLC-1090 costs ₹899, against a ₹1,185 list price. Next, the XLC-1000 costs ₹1,590 and the XLC-1001 costs ₹2,090. Then the XLC-1002S costs ₹2,722. Finally, the XLC-1004 costs ₹7,894, against ₹10,790. All five are hydraulic surface-mounted closers in a stainless finish. They suit wooden and metal doors, and each one includes the mounting hardware.

Choosing an Aido closer by door weight

Each model carries a rated door weight. The XLC-1000 takes 40 kg and the XLC-1001 takes 60 kg. The XLC-1090 takes 65 kg, while the XLC-1002S takes 80 kg. At the top, the XLC-1004 takes 120 kg. That is the heaviest rating in our whole catalogue. Two rules save returns. First, round up rather than down, because an under-rated closer slams and fails early. Second, measure the width of the door leaf as well as its weight. A wide door needs a higher rating than its weight alone suggests.

Aido or Dorma Kaba?

Same group, different positions in the market. Aido XLC covers the everyday range from ₹899 to ₹7,894. It suits most homes and small offices. The Dorma Kaba TS-68 at ₹3,499 and the concealed ITS-96 at ₹17,499 sit above it. The closer arm will show either way. So if your door is under 80 kg, the Aido range does the same job for less.

Frequently Asked Questions about Aido XLC Door Closers

What is the price range of Aido XLC door closers?

Aido XLC runs from ₹899 for the XLC-1090 to ₹7,894 for the XLC-1004. In between, the XLC-1000 costs ₹1,590, the XLC-1001 costs ₹2,090 and the XLC-1002S costs ₹2,722. All five are hydraulic surface-mounted closers in a stainless finish, and the mounting hardware is included.

Which Aido XLC model fits my door?

Match the model to door weight, then round up. The XLC-1000 takes 40 kg, the XLC-1001 takes 60 kg, the XLC-1090 takes 65 kg, the XLC-1002S takes 80 kg, and the XLC-1004 takes 120 kg, the heaviest closer we stock. A wide door needs a higher rating than its weight alone suggests, so measure the leaf width as well.

Is Aido the same brand as Dorma or Dormakaba?

Related, not identical. Aido is an India-based manufacturer that once traded as Dorma XL-C and still belongs to the dormakaba group, which is why the closer body carries the Dorma name alongside its XLC model number. Dorma Kaba, sold separately on this site, is the Swiss-German group’s own current-day closer range. Aido and Dorma Kaba are sister brands under the same corporate history, not the same product line.

Should I buy Aido XLC or Dorma Kaba?

Door weight and budget decide it. Aido XLC covers 40–120 kg from ₹899 to ₹7,894 and suits most homes and small offices. Dorma Kaba’s TS-68 (₹3,499) and concealed ITS-96 (₹17,499) both top out at 80 kg, so for a door under 80 kg the Aido range does the same job for less. Choose Dorma Kaba only if you specifically want a concealed, invisible-arm closer.

Can I install an Aido XLC closer myself, and what is the warranty?

Have a carpenter or contractor fit it; door closers need precise alignment, and mis-installation can affect both safety and the warranty. Installation typically costs ₹300–₹800 extra. Aido XLC carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects, which does not cover installation errors or lack of maintenance, so keep your receipt for any claim.
